Position: Partner, Head of Property team

Roger is a specialist Domestic and Commercial property lawyer and joined Asher Prior Bates in 1980. He is the firms Principal.

Roger studied at the University of London and was admitted in 1974.

He is a Council Member of the Law Society of England and Wales representing Suffolk and North Essex (SNELS) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Property section. He has practiced mainly in the East of England for a large number of Private and Commercial clients, and particularly for Service families.

Roger is well regarded for his high level of personal service and has built a firm that thrives on client recommendation based on professionalism. In more recent years he has piloted the firm through a number of accreditations including the Law Society Practice Management Standard LEXCEL and Investors in people ( IIP) and latterly the Law Society/CML Conveyancing Quality Standard (CQS).

Outside work Roger has served as an Officer in the TA for 39 years, most recently in 16 Air Assault Brigade, based in Colchester, so has a particular understanding of the demands and rigours of service life.

He is an active Colcestrian and from 2000 to 2008 was a member of the Colchester Borough Council.  He remains active in support of his local community and is a Trustee to and participates in a number of Charities

Roger also enjoys sailing, skiing and walking.
